PounceFit

Body assessment for personal trainers.

For a personal trainer, a body assessment sets the client's starting point and shows whether the program is working. In PounceFit you record skinfolds, circumferences, strength and photos, and the app calculates body fat percentage and builds a PDF report with your name and credentials.

Which skinfold protocol should you use?

The app defaults to Jackson & Pollock 7-site. The 3-site version is faster and works well for frequent check-ins.

Compare them in Jackson & Pollock 3-site vs 7-site, run the numbers in the 3-site calculator or start on paper with the printable body assessment form.

Frequently asked questions

Which skinfold protocol should a personal trainer use?

There is no single right answer. Jackson & Pollock 7-site is the PounceFit default; 3-site is quicker. What matters most is sticking with the same protocol for the same client. The comparison is in 3-site vs 7-site: which to use.

Do I need a bioimpedance scale?

No. Skinfold assessment only needs a caliper. If you have a compatible scale, the app reads it over Bluetooth: see bioimpedance scales.

Do clients have to install anything?

No. Clients don't use the app. They get their results as a PDF, by email or on paper.

I train clients at the gym and at home. Can I take it with me?

Yes, on a laptop running Windows, macOS or Linux. Assessments work offline, and the data stays on your computer.

How much does it cost?

It is a monthly or yearly subscription with a free 14-day trial. See Pricing.
